Arkansas State University will bring its A-State in a Day transfer admissions program to ASU-Mountain Home on Tuesday, March 17, offering community college students a chance to meet with university representatives without making the nearly three-hour drive to Jonesboro.
The event will be held on the second floor of Roller Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“A-State in a Day brings the campus visit experience directly to the host institution, eliminating barriers of distance, cost and access for prospective transfer students,” said Gregory Hawkins, associate director of transfer admissions.
Representatives from admissions, advising, financial aid and academic programs will be on hand to walk students through the transfer process.
“Transferring can be very stressful, but having someone walk students through the process in person helps relieve so much of that uncertainty,” said Stephanie Beaver, dean of student affairs at ASU-Mountain Home.
Dr. Amanda Nickerson, vice chancellor for enrollment management, said the goal is to leave students with a clear picture of their next steps.
“From admissions and advising to financial aid and academic pathways, we want students to leave knowing exactly what their next steps are — and that A-State is ready to support them from day one,” Nickerson said.
The ASU-Mountain Home stop is one of 11 institutions participating in the series across Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. Additional events will be held at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton, Three Rivers College, University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College, North Arkansas College, ASU Three Rivers, ASU Mid-South, ASU-Beebe, Arkansas Northeastern College and ASU-Beebe at Heber Springs.
