Twenty nine artists across Baxter and Marion counties will open their studio doors this month for the 15th annual Art Odyssey Studio Tour.
The self-guided tour runs Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 24 to 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. No tickets are required, and visitors can see as many studios as they want at their own pace.
Painters, potters, sculptors, photographers and artists working in other media will be at work in their own spaces. Guests can watch demonstrations, ask about technique and inspiration, and buy original pieces directly from the people who made them.
Free tour guide booklets with studio locations and driving directions are available at the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County, the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce and participating local businesses.
Anyone wanting a preview can stop by the library now. The Art Odyssey Sneak Peek Exhibit is on display there and features one piece from every artist on the tour.
Organizers suggest making a day or a weekend of it by stringing together several studios and stopping at downtown shops and restaurants along the way.
