Arvest Bank has launched its 16th annual Million Meals campaign, a two-month fundraising effort to support food banks across four states, including the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.
The campaign runs through May 31. Every dollar donated goes directly to more than 70 food partner organizations and provides up to five meals for those in need.
“At Arvest, we understand that when our neighbors are fed and healthy, our entire community thrives,” said Scott Copeland, president of Arvest Bank’s North Arkansas division. “We are more committed than ever to fighting hunger, as no family should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.”
The campaign is timed to help local food pantries meet the expected increase in demand during the summer months, when many children lose access to free school meals.
Arkansas ranked first among the most food-insecure states in the nation, with 19% of households reporting they lacked enough food to feed their families, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Nationally, 18% of households with children under 18 experienced food insecurity in 2024.
Since the campaign began in 2011, it has helped provide more than 28 million meals and collected more than $5.1 million in donations. Last year’s effort set a record, providing 3.08 million meals.
