ASU-Mountain Home’s Academic All-Star, Kelly Baker, was honored at Arkansas Community College’s annual conference recently.
Kelly is working toward a bachelor’s degree in nursing and plans to work in clinical education and public health research.
She is involved on campus as the leader of the Association of Students with Disabilities and Chronic Conditions (ASDCC) and is also active in the rare disease/disability community in multiple ways including running support groups, public speaking, and serving on medical research review panels.
Kelly wants to use her experiences with chronic illness and rare diseases to help educate and empower other patients to advocate for themselves and to improve healthcare through patient-focused care and research.
