Arkansas State University-Mountain Home will announce a major donation and a new initiative Monday that the college says will have a significant impact on the region’s college-going rate.
The announcement is set for 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in the Dale Bumpers Great Hall at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the school’s main campus.
ASUMH did not release details ahead of the event. The college said the process moved quickly this week and that it was still finalizing details with everyone involved.
The Sheid is the largest building on the ASUMH campus. It opened in September 2010 and is named for Vada Webb Sheid, the first woman to serve in both the Arkansas House and Senate, who helped secure the money that brought the college to Mountain Home.
