Arkansas State University-Mountain Home closed its physical bookstore doors last month, moving to an online-only model this month.
The university partnered with bookstore vendor Follett to make the transition. Students will continue using ASUMHshop.com for all their textbook and campus merchandise needs.
“An online store allows us to offer a huge selection while reallocating physical space on campus to other needs,” university leadership said in a statement.
The physical bookstore remained open through June 25 before making the switch.
The virtual bookstore offers the same services as the physical location. This includes textbook rentals, technology purchases, and ASUMH apparel and supplies.
Students can still use financial aid, VA textbook vouchers, and other authorized student accounts as payment methods. Gift cards previously purchased remain valid for online use.
All orders over $99 qualify for free ground shipping. Most shipments arrive within 3-7 business days.
Expedited shipping is available for an additional charge.
The bookstore accepts credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and ZIP payment plans.
The return policy remains unchanged. Textbooks in resalable condition can be refunded with a receipt within 14 calendar days from the start of classes or the date received, whichever is later.
Students who drop classes can return books through the end of the drop/add period with proof.
For textbook buybacks, Follett partnered with ValoreBooks. Students enter their book’s ISBN on the website to view prices.
Books ship free to ValoreBooks. Payment comes via check or PayPal.
The online store provides 24/7 access to course materials.
“Students can shop for the resources they need – gear, course materials, and tech – all in one place,” according to the university.
The website offers personalized recommendations, flexible delivery options, and intuitive search features.
Customer service is available through the website or by calling 800-381-5151.
