The Democratic Party of Baxter County will hold its annual Bodenhamer Dinner on Sept. 27 at Gaston’s Conference Center in Lakeview.
The dinner honors the legacy of the Bodenhamer family’s longtime service to Baxter County, including former County Judge Joe Bodenhamer, who died in August 2023 at age 74. Bodenhamer, a Democrat, served two non-consecutive terms as county judge from 1995 to 2004 and 2008 to 2012, leading the county through the devastating 2009 ice storm that caused between $5 million and $6 million in damage.
The Bodenhamer family continues to be active in local government. Jim Bodenhamer currently serves on the Mountain Home City Council representing Ward 4, while Bob Bodenhamer serves on the Baxter County Election Commission.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. at the venue located at 1777 River Road. Tickets are $20 and include barbecue from Holy Smokes BBQ.
Joe Bodenhamer also served as Arkansas’s first Homeland Security Division Leader for the state Department of Emergency Management and worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Before entering politics, he served 9½ years on the Mountain Home School Board and owned several area businesses.
The dinner provides an opportunity for party members to gather and discuss political activities ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
Tickets can be purchased by calling (773) 370-1887 or (870) 565-2061.
