The Baxter County Library is giving local pet owners a chance to immortalize their furry friends through a unique raffle featuring the work of an internationally trained artist.
Through December 6, residents can enter to win a custom watercolor portrait by acclaimed artist Carole T. Jones, who studied at both The Art Students League in New York City and the Royal Academy in England. The winner will receive a 15″ x 20″ portrait that can feature up to five pets.
The portrait can be created in either Jones’ Life-Like style for a traditional portrait, or her Whimsy style, which allows pet owners to select custom clothing and settings for their animals.
Raffle tickets are available at the library’s Circulation Desk for $5 each, or participants can purchase six tickets for $20. The library is accepting both cash and check payments.
Jones, known for her passion for animals and her ability to capture their personalities in her watercolors, will complete the portrait within 30 days of receiving the winner’s pet photos. The winner will have 30 days after notification to submit their photos to the artist.
The raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 p.m. on December 6 at the Baxter County Library.
