The Baxter Health Foundation will host a free community event at Baxter Health Fulton County Hospital in Salem on July 7. The event, called “Rooted in Care: A Community Meet and Greet,” runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No registration or tickets are needed.
The event includes a free lunch of hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks. Visitors can win $500 cash through the KTLO Treasure Chest, which will be on-site, and gift cards through separate drawings. To enter the gift card drawings, attendees answer who or what they would support with a $1 million donation.
Staff from the Baxter Health Community Support Houses will share information about free services in the region. Those programs include the Mruk Family Center on Aging, the Peitz Cancer Support House and the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health. A member of the Baxter Health Auxiliary will also discuss volunteer opportunities at the hospital.
Baxter, the Baxter Health Foundation Dino, will help serve lunch.
“We are so excited to bring this event to Fulton County,” said Sarah Edwards, executive director of the Baxter Health Foundation. “This community has meant so much to Baxter Health for a long time, and this is our chance to show up, say thank you, and share what the Foundation is doing right here close to home.”
EZ Niles, administrator of Baxter Health Fulton County Hospital, said giving to the Foundation is a way for neighbors to invest in one another. “We take care of each other here, and the Foundation is a big part of how we do that,” he said.
