Allyson Meadows Wintle, a paramedic with Baxter Health’s ambulance service, has received the health system’s Heroes with Halos Award. The recognition honors Baxter Health providers, employees, volunteers and departments nominated for exceptional care.
Wintle earned the award after a patient described her care during two ambulance rides. The nomination said she served as an advocate and a calming presence on both trips.
“Allyson from Ambulance was my unwavering advocate and calming presence during both ambulance rides,” the patient wrote. The patient said Wintle listened to worries about glucose levels and urged hospital staff to treat the condition seriously.
On a second, sicker trip days later, the nomination said Wintle again pushed for urgent care with empathy and confidence. It credited her with carrying the patient safely from a crisis into the hospital.
Baxter Health President and CEO Ron Peterson presented the award, along with Baxter Health Foundation Executive Director Sarah Edwards, Ambulance Services Director James Pinkston and other members of the health system’s leadership.
Residents can nominate a Baxter Health provider, employee, volunteer or department through the Heroes with Halos program. More information is available at baxterhealth.org/heroes.
