Baxter Health has presented its Heroes with Halos Award to Jaclyn Warren, BSN, RN, after a patient’s family nominated her for her care before and after a heart bypass surgery.
Warren was filling in with the cardiac surgery team in the pre-surgery area the morning of the patient’s coronary artery bypass graft, the family member wrote in the nomination. The family member said Warren drew on years of experience in that role to explain what to expect during recovery.
“She came to visit afterwards as well and brought us diet information with a pleasant and positive attitude and smile,” the family member wrote.
The award was presented by Anthony Reed, vice president of ancillary services; Tobias Pugsley, vice president of marketing and communications; Dawn Tullis, ADN, RN, cardiac rehab coordinator; and members of the cardiac rehab staff.
Heroes with Halos lets patients and families recognize a Baxter Health provider, employee, volunteer or department. Nominations and more information are available at www.baxterhealth.org/heroes.
