Baxter Health has recognized paramedic Dee Allen with a Heroes with Halos award, an honor driven by patient nominations.
The award was presented by Sarah Edwards, executive director of the Baxter Health Foundation, along with James Pinkston, director of ambulance services; paramedic supervisor Chris Fry; EMS coordinator Buddy Bodenhamer; and members of the ambulance staff.
The nomination came from a patient who spent 37 days at Baxter and wrote that Allen checked in nearly every day of that stay.
“I realize doctors and nurses are recognized a lot, but Dee deserves to be recognized,” the patient wrote. “She was amazing and never gave up on me.”
The patient described Allen as arriving with a smile and encouraging words each visit, and called her a good person as well as good at her job.
Heroes with Halos allows patients and families to honor a Baxter Health provider, employee, volunteer or department. Information on the program and how to submit a nomination is at baxterhealth.org/heroes.
