The Baxter Health Women and Newborn Care Center staff received a Heroes with Halos Award this week, recognized by the Baxter Health Foundation for their care during an emergency delivery.
Sarah Edwards, executive director of the Baxter Health Foundation, and Anthony Reed, vice president of ancillary services, presented the award.
A family member nominated the team after their daughter-in-law, Gracie, required an emergency cesarean section due to a complication. The family said the doctor acted quickly to get Gracie into surgery and safely deliver her grandson, Henry David. The nursing staff reunited the baby’s father, Brandon, with his newborn as soon as possible.
“We feel each of the OB Team is a true representation of Heroes with Halos,” the family wrote in their nomination.
The Heroes with Halos program allows community members to honor Baxter Health providers, employees, volunteers or departments. More information is available at baxterhealth.org/heroes.
