Valentine’s Day 2022 is less than a week away and many established couples are scrambling to come up with gift ideas for their partners. When asked of my husband if he was procuring a gift for me for Valentine’s, his response was, in stellar amazement, “I have to get you something for Valentine’s Day?” And immediately after that realization, rapid fire questions: “When is it, again? What did I get you last year? I can’t remember. Are you sure I got you something?”
Gift giving is not exactly our top “love language” for either of us.
Some married folks may celebrate their love and affection daily; others may be so busy in the grind that is life they can barely remember to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Here at the Observer, Chris and I figured we would take the opportunity to use Valentine’s Day to celebrate extraordinary couples right in our very own community.
The Observer is seeking love stories from couples within the Twin Lakes area. Maybe not you own story, dear reader, but perhaps your parents’ or grandparents’ love story. Personally, I love reading about senior couples who have been married for decades and still manage to hold each other’s hands in public or do nice little things for each other. It is touching and inspires my love within my own marriage.
If you are up for sharing your special love story for an upcoming special edition on Monday Feb 14, please email details to [email protected] with a photo or two (wedding and/or recent), the details on how you met, and how many years married.
We are looking forward to reading and sharing your love story on our platform.
