Nonprofit organizations and community-based groups interested in strengthening their grant-writing skills are invited to attend Capacity Building Through Grant Writing, a workshop scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arkansas State University–Mountain Home.
Hosted by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture – Baxter County Extension, the workshop will focus on helping participants learn how to write stronger, more effective grant proposals and identify resources and partnerships that can support community projects.
The featured speaker will be Hunter P. Goodman, Ph.D., assistant professor of Community, Workforce and Economic Development. Goodman will share practical information on grant-writing tools, funding sources, and developing partnerships that can help nonprofit and community-based organizations increase their capacity to pursue grant opportunities.
The workshop will be held in the Trout Room at The Sheid on the ASUMH campus, located at 489 Kings Circle in Mountain Home.
Lunch will be provided and sponsored by the Twin Lakes Community Foundation, with Kimberly Jones supporting the event.
Whether an organization is new to grant writing or looking to improve its existing grant-writing skills, the workshop is designed to provide useful tools and information that participants can take back to their organizations and communities.
Registration is required by Sept. 18. Participants can register by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or by contacting the Baxter County Extension Office for registration information.
