Demonstrating its dedication to preserving and celebrating the rich history of the region, the Leadership Class of the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce proudly presented a donation of $1,000 to the Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society.
In addition to this financial contribution, the Leadership Class also commissioned local artist Cory McMahon to create a mural that celebrates the unique history and spirit of Baxter County.
The Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society, a non-profit organization, has been instrumental in preserving local history and aiding individuals in genealogical research. The Leadership Class was happy to support the Baxter County Historical Society as their project for the year. They donated time and resources to help the Historical Society prepare for the Sesquicentennial Celebration held in conjunction with JamFest on October 21st, 2023. They came up with the idea to work with a local artist to create a new mural downtown to celebrate and commemorate Baxter County.
Cory McMahon, whose artistry has graced numerous local venues, was a pleasure to work with and did a great job capturing the essence of Baxter County’s rich heritage. The mural is located in Mountain Home at 15 W. 6th Street. The mural’s downtown placement will ensure that it becomes a focal point, drawing attention from both residents and visitors alike.
The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce works diligently to support, promote, and attract businesses in the Mountain Home area, fostering a robust economic environment.
