Residents at Hiram Shaddox Nursing Home and Rehabilitation spent an afternoon last week arranging flowers of their own design. The hands-on class was led by Rock’n Roses, a Mountain Home florist that supplied the blooms, the tools and the instruction.
Working stem by stem, residents picked their favorite colors and flowers and built their own bouquets. Each arrangement turned out a little different from the next.
The facility said afternoons like these are part of how it tries to keep daily life at Hiram Shaddox full and connected. Bringing local businesses and familiar faces through its doors, it said, helps keep everyday life meaningful for residents.
Hiram Shaddox has long held that meaningful activity and genuine relationships matter to residents’ well-being as much as their daily care. Staff there describe the people they serve not as residents but as family.
The facility thanked Rock’n Roses for donating its time and talent for the class. Families who want to learn more about Hiram Shaddox can call 870-232-0320.
