Joey Sample won the 2023 Big Creek Golf & Country Club Flag Tournament on September 3. All 31 players got a small US Flag to plant on the course after they reach 72 strokes plus their handicap.
For example, if a player’s handicap was 10, he or she planted their flag where their 82nd shot ended up. If the player still had strokes to play after completing 18 holes, he or she continued to #1 and kept going until the strokes were gone.
Joey made it all the way to the #2 green after shooting 73 over 18 holes leaving him several more strokes to use up. Four of the top five players made it past 18:
