I am planning on voting FOR the Mountain Home Public School millage.
I have toured the existing high school and have seen first hand the need to upgrade and expand the education facilities.
I have reviewed the well-planned program for education of the next generations of our students, including not only classroom space, but facilities for the nursing program, our award winning ROTC program, and our nationally acclaimed FIRST robotics program.
Mountain Home has one of the finest school systems in the state. Our sons benefited from the excellent education they received here. One does not have to look far to find graduates of our public schools now filling positions in the medical, professional, educational and business fields here in the Mountain Home area.
No one wants more taxes. I am sure the citizens who paid for my public school education many years ago said the same thing. But they realized, as I do, that we have an obligation to provide for the education of the next generations of our students.
If you are unsure of your vote or contemplating a no vote, you owe it to the kids to take the time to tour the existing high school and review the plans with a member of the school administration.
They are available to you to show you the need for this millage increase (call 425-1201). You will see first-hand the need for this millage to be passed.
Please join me in paying forward the support we all received when we were students.
I urge everyone to vote FOR this millage.
