On Monday, January 30, the Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education will host a special board meeting in Dunbar Auditorium at the high school at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the potential of placing another millage increase measure for high school renovations on the ballot in 2023.
According to district superintendent Dr. Jake Long, the meeting will begin with presentations related to the facility needs at the high school. “We’ll hear from state school facilities representatives, our project architect, and our financial advisors,” he said. “They’ll update us on the current structural and financial needs related to this project.”
Following those presentations, the meeting will go into a short recess, and members of the public will be given the opportunity to sign up to speak on the issue. The floor will be open for a limited time for public comment before the board will begin their own discussion. After their discussion, the Board will use the information presented to decide if and when a millage increase measure should be placed on an upcoming ballot.
