Mountain Home students in grades 5-7 participated in the Elks Americanism Essay contest again this year. The essay topic was “What does ‘service to your country’ mean to me?”
Three winners from the district were awarded checks and recognized by Elks Lodge #1714 Exalted Ruler Roger Lumpkin as well as Kim Swearingen and Vonya Schaufler, who serve as the Americanism Committee Co-Chairs. Congratulations to Hackler Intermediate fifth grader Aaliyah Barnes and Pinkson Middle School seventh graders Daxtyn Small and Jennifer Taheny.
