A mid-afternoon thunderstorm with high winds resulted in downed trees and property damage in Mountain Home yesterday.
Baxter Health’s Clinic Administration Building took the biggest reported blow, with winds sending the building’s roof flying into a neighboring ditch. Baxter Health officials said no one was hurt during the incident.
Several thunderstorms have been rolling through the Ozarks, with more expected to come across the area in next few days. Last week, several major storms moved through Arkansas, knocking out power in portions of the state, prompting Governor Sanders to focus on storm recovery again.
No tornado was reported during yesterday’s storm despite the high winds. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for potential tornadoes in Thursday and Friday’s expected storms.
