The Bomber Battalion of Mountain Home High School’s NJROTC program has once again soared to unparalleled heights, showcasing their exceptional skills and unyielding determination at the Annual Airedale Invitational, hosted by Alma High School NJROTC on December 8th and 9th.
Facing off against top-tier Navy and Marine JROTC units from Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, the Bomber Battalion emerged as the undisputed champions, clinching the first-place position overall for the first time since 2005. This remarkable achievement solidifies the Bombers’ reputation as an emerging powerhouse in the NJROTC community.
Under the exceptional guidance of Chief Jason Williams and Lieutenant Commander Allan Hale, along with the battalion’s executive officer, Cadet Lieutenant Commander Ryan Amick, the Bombers were the top performing unit across all four states, placing first overall. Academic team commander, Cadet Lieutenant Dylan Prins led his team to first place on the Academic Exam. Cadet Lieutenant Commander Justin Rula led his drill team to second place in Armed Regulation as well as his athletic team to first place in both push-ups and curl-ups and second place in the 16X100 relay. Cadet Lieutenant Commander Ryan Amick led his team to second place in the Armed Exhibition competition. Cadet Lieutenant Ivy Hartman led her team to second place Unarmed Regulation competition. Cadet Lieutenant Ethan Darracq led the Drone team to second place in the minesweeper competition.
The Bombers placed in the top 5 in all other competitions, including Unarmed Exhibition led by Cadet Lieutenant Junior Grade Rose Taylor and Color Guard led by Cadet Lieutenant Junior Grade Kristen Eddings.
The Bomber Battalion’s achievements extend beyond the competition floor. The Drill Team, embodying the values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership, competes with the same pride as varsity sports teams, balancing academic responsibilities with precision performances.
The excitement doesn’t stop there! The Bomber Battalion will be hosting the First Annual Bomber Classic drill competition at the Mountain Home Junior High campus on Saturday, January 13th, 2024. This event promises a spectacle of skill and precision as the cadets compete against Navy, Army, Air Force, and Marine JROTC units from across the region. Bomber Fans are invited to witness the action and cheer on your Bomber Battalion, with competition starting at 0800.
