Mountain Home High School will be hosting the annual veteran’s program “Freedom is not Free” on November 10th at 9:00 AM.
High school ROTC Instructor and the events coordinator, Chief Jason Williams, will be hosting the annual ‘Freedom is not Free’ at the Dunbar auditorium.
During this program, veterans will be recognized and honored by students, faculty. Community members and political officials. The high school band will be performing the national anthem and other patriotic songs. The service songs will be played, and the choir will perform multiple patriotic songs as well. The high school ROTC will be performing a 12 man color guard, representing all service branches. The ROTC will also be performing a flag detail, showing how to properly fold a flag and what each of the 13 folds means. Additionally, guests and dignitaries will be present to show their support for the veterans.
During this event, honorary Mountain Home High School diplomas will be offered to veterans who were unable to complete their high school education due to service obligations. If any veterans are interested in receiving this diploma, please contact the school at (870) 425-1215 before October 23rd.
Following the Freedom Isn’t Free Veteran event the NJROTC unit will hold our Annual Area Managers Inspection and Pass-in-Review, which will consist of a Unit Personal Inspection, Drill team performances, and Pass-in-Review. The unit cadets will be inspected by representatives from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and Arkansas National Guard. The Guest of Honor will be Lt Col Deano Busch (ret).
