City sales tax collections continued to climb in March, reflecting a 5% increase over the same period last year, according to figures released by Director of Finance and Treasury Alma L. Clark.
The city collected $532,315.29 in sales tax revenue for the month, up $25,641.13 from the $506,574.16 collected in March 2025. The monthly figures reflect retail sales activity from January 2026. Year to date, city sales tax collections are up $68,207.13, a 3.94% increase.
Mountain Home’s share of the Baxter County sales tax also showed growth, with $253,825.43 collected for the month compared to $238,485.79 a year ago. That represents a 6.43% monthly increase. Year to date, the city’s county share is up $52,832.97, a 6.6% increase, outpacing the city sales tax growth rate.
Public safety sales tax collections totaled $199,618.24, up $9,615.43 from the $190,002.81 collected in March 2025, a 5.06% increase. Year to date, the public safety tax is up $25,577.67, a 3.94% increase.
The park improvement sales tax collected $266,157.65 for the month, coming in $51,532.70 above the $214,624.95 monthly bond payment required for 2026. The parks operations sales tax collected $133,078.82.
