The city of Mountain Home is warning residents that an unofficial Facebook page has falsely presented itself as the city’s official community center account. Mayor Hillrey Adams’ office said the page, titled “Mountain Home Aquatic Center,” is not run by or affiliated with the city.
The account behind the page appears to be anonymous. It uses the name “La’Ka’Shawn McDonagh,” which appears to be a pseudonym, along with a meme image as its profile photo. The city said the page has publicly claimed to be the official city account and contains inaccurate information.
City officials said the page has caused confusion for residents looking for details about the community center. They asked the public to disregard information posted there.
The city’s official page is “Mountain Home Community Center,” which launched last week. Officials said the official page will never include the word “aquatic” in its name.
The official page lists the city website, mountainhomear.gov, and a phone number, (870) 424-9311. It also lists the email [email protected] as a point of contact.
Residents who want accurate information about the community center should rely on the official page or contact the city directly.
