Twin Lakes Playhouse says all three opening performances of Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express” played to full houses, and nine shows remain in the run.
The mystery continues over the next three weekends. Friday and Saturday performances start at 7 p.m., and Sunday matinees start at 2 p.m.
Remaining dates are Aug. 21, 22 and 23, Aug. 28, 29 and 30, and Sept. 4, 5 and 6.
The Playhouse shared a round of audience comments from the opening weekend, several of them five-star. One newcomer wrote that it was a first visit to the theater and ended with a plan to buy season tickets.
Others praised the performances and the set. The theater says tickets are moving quickly after the opening weekend turnout.
Joanne Helms directs the production, with Ronna Fulton as assistant director. Mike Horberg plays Hercule Poirot, the Belgian detective at the center of Christie’s 1934 novel.
The story puts Poirot aboard a snowbound luxury train after a passenger is found dead in his compartment. Every traveler in the car is a suspect.
Sponsors for the production are Baxter Health, Dauna Powell with Peglar Real Estate Group, Albright Farms, Tasty Greens and Josselyn Obregon.
Tickets are available at tlpmh.org. The box office can be reached at 870-424-0444, where a volunteer will return calls.
