Voctave, an 11-member a cappella ensemble with more than 150 million video views and multiple No. 1 albums on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, will perform at the Sheid Auditorium at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home on Wednesday, April 8. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
The performance is presented by the Haley Cultural Arts Endowment. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for students.
The Mountain Home date is part of Voctave’s current spring tour, which includes stops across the United States.
Formed in the winter of 2015 by producer and arranger Jamey Rey, Voctave draws its members from a wealth of diverse musical backgrounds. The group is based in Central Florida, and several members have roots in Orlando’s theme-park performance circuit. The ensemble’s current lineup includes Rey, Drew Ochoa, Kate Lott, Sarah Whittemore, Tiffany Coburn, Aaron Stratton, Chrystal Johnson, Ashley Espinoza, E.J. Cardona, Kurt von Schmittou, and Karl Hudson.
What sets Voctave apart from other a cappella acts is its extraordinary range — the 11 voices collectively span five full octaves — and the complexity of Rey’s arrangements, which draw from Broadway, Disney, jazz standards, gospel, and pop. The group’s breakout “Disney Love Medley” introduced millions of listeners to their signature sound, and their recordings have featured collaborations with Grammy, Dove, and American Music Award winners.
Voctave has ranked in the top 25 on Billboard Magazine’s charts and has performed on stages around the world. Concertgoers can expect a show running roughly 90 minutes to two hours.
