Kristi Seawright, a first grade teacher at Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary, has been named the Mountain Home Public Schools Teacher of the Year.
Superintendent Allyson Dewey announced the selection Wednesday, noting the district moved the announcement up to meet a state submission deadline.
“Mrs. Seawright is so deserving of this distinction, and while she does not always feel comfortable in the spotlight, I am thankful we get to honor her work,” Dewey said. “Being selected by your colleagues to serve as the district’s Teacher of the Year is an amazing accomplishment.”
Seawright was chosen by fellow educators across the district through a nomination and voting process. Dewey congratulated each finalist, calling them “incredible educators who deserve to be recognized.”
The Richard Padgett Award recipient will be announced at a later date.
