No edition on Monday: The Observer to observe Labor Day

In observance of Labor Day, the Mountain Home Observer will not produce an edition on Monday, September 5.

Fun bit of information: Labor Day has been celebrated for 140 years since 1882. It became a federal holiday in 1894.

Summer is beginning to wind down and some already have their autumn and Halloween decorations out. Not us, as we still recover from health procedures performed a week ago in St. Louis.

Thankfully the weather is no longer surface-of-the-sun blazing hot anymore and we call enjoy the outdoors more, provided it is not raining. If it’s not the heat, it’s the rain!

I don’t know about everyone else, but we are greatly looking forward to cool crisp autumn weather.

We will see you next week! Enjoy the holiday.
