Brooke Whitt has joined the Baxter Health Family Clinic at Mountain View as a family nurse practitioner. She began seeing patients earlier this year and is accepting new patients.
Whitt grew up in north central Arkansas and brings more than a decade of healthcare experience to the role. That includes six years as a school nurse in the Southside School District and three years as a neonatal intensive care nurse at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
She also worked in medical-surgical and pediatric care at White River Medical Center and served as a nurse for Arkansas Girls State.
Whitt earned a master’s degree in nursing with a family nurse practitioner focus from Henderson State University in 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner.
She has pursued continuing education through Harvard Medical School, including coursework in lifestyle medicine, and has reviewed exams for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
“Brooke is exactly the kind of provider our communities need and deserve,” said Brian Barnett, vice president of physician enterprise and business development at Baxter Health. He said her background spans neonatal care, pediatrics, school nursing and primary care.
Outside the clinic, Whitt enjoys spending time with family, traveling, hiking and boating. Her husband, Dr. Jed Whitt, will begin practicing at the clinic in August.
