Fred’s Fish House, a popular Mountain Home restaurant, caught fire resulting in severe damage to the property during the early morning hours of Wednesday.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office received notification of a fire from the restaurant’s automated fire alarm system and dispatched a deputy to confirm the fire at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday morning.

After seeing heavy smoke coming from the building, the deputy on scene called the Northeast Lakeside Fire Department to extinguish the fire. Fire crews arrived at 4:50 a.m.
A request for help from additional fire departments was sent out at 5:19 a.m.

Fans of the restaurant showed an outpouring of support for the owners and employees of the popular fish house on social media this morning after news of the fire was reported.
Fred’s Fish House is located on U.S. Highway 62/412 near Lake Norfork. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
