The Baxter County Library’s Read | Write | Ignite Literary Series returns in March with a hot lineup of great special appearances by accomplished authors. The series starts on March 16 and spans into the second week of May.
On Thursday, March 16, at 9:00am, award-winning children’s book author Dan Gutman will be visiting the Library. Dan is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and has written many popular books, including the My Weird School series. This is a hybrid event, which means you can watch virtually at the Library or interact with the author from the comfort of your home. Registration is required and can be found by visiting the Library’s calendar at www.BaxLib.org. Registration for this event will close on March 11, 2023 at 8:00am; information will be in your confirmation email.
On Friday, March 17, at 5:00pm, come to the Library for a visit with Frank Head, the author of The Possibility of All Things: A Story of Parallel Journeys. Whether they are young adventurers lost in the wilds of the Sierra Madre, or senior lovers trying to communicate through the barrier of an extended coma, the common theme of life as a journey towards a higher wakefulness provides the reader with exciting adventures as well as profound insights. Interspersed with Head’s reading from the book, John Joseph Ray (Arkansas-based musician, author, and craniosacral therapist), will play music from the book’s playlist including songs by Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. There will be a door prize drawing, so don’t forget to pick up your ticket at the door.
On Thursday, March 23, at 11:00am, award-winning author of the FBI Yellowstone Adventure series, Rhona Weaver will be the Library’s featured guest. Ask Rhona about her books and what inspires her to write. This is a hybrid event which means you can watch virtually at the Library or interact with the author from the comfort of your home. There will be a door prize drawing for those who join in-person at the Library. Zoom information can be found online on the Library’s event calendar.
