Smash Mouth, a Motown revue and a touring circus company anchor the 15th season of the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home Performing Arts Series, which runs from September through March at the Coulter Performing Arts Center inside the Vada Sheid Community Development Center.
Tickets open to the public Aug. 17. Donors get first pick before that, under a patron program the college has rewritten for the anniversary season.
The lineup:
- Artrageous, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. Presented by the Haley Cultural Arts Endowment.
- Smash Mouth, Oct. 30, 7 p.m.
- Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul, Nov. 5, 7 p.m.
- John T. Edge, Nov. 19, 6 p.m. Presented as part of the Gaston Lecture Series.
- Christmas with the Nelsons, Dec. 13, 3 p.m. Presented by the Coulter Holiday Endowment.
- Jonathan Blanchard: From History to Hip-Hop, Feb. 24, 6 p.m. Part of the Arvest Concert Series.
- Cirque Mechanics, March 7, 7 p.m.
Seat selection now follows the size of a patron’s annual sponsorship, with the biggest donors choosing first. Patrons at $5,000 and up picked July 13, followed by $2,500 on July 20, $1,250 on July 27, $500 on Aug. 3 and $250 on Aug. 10.
Seats held during the 14th season do not carry over. Returning patrons have to select again in their tier’s window.
Sponsorships run from $250 to $10,000 and above. Higher levels add season tickets, reserved parking, meet-and-greet access and more passes to the patron reception, which is now limited by sponsorship level rather than open to all patrons. Ticket sales cover about half the series’ budget, according to ASUMH.
The series has run since 2011 and is shaped by the Performing Arts Council, a volunteer group of community members who research and select the shows. Caroline Carroll chairs the council. Other members are Tami Barrow, Denise Clarke, Kelly Householder-Giuliano, Jeff Quick, Katie Risk, Gayla Thompson, Terre Ware and Lang Zimmerman.
Tickets are sold online at thesheid.com through iTickets, by phone at (870) 508-6280 or (800) 965-9324, and in person at the box office Monday through Friday. The box office also opens an hour before performances and during intermission.
