Smash Mouth takes the stage at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on Friday, Oct. 30, the second stop in a 15th anniversary season of the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home Performing Arts Series that runs through March.
The 7 p.m. show is the biggest ticket of the season. Premium seating is $60, general adult seating is $40 and student tickets are $20. ASUMH has said a VIP meet and greet is planned, with details still to be announced.
The season opened Sept. 23 with Artrageous, a live painting and music show presented by the Haley Cultural Arts Endowment. Six shows remain at the Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center inside The Sheid:
- Smash Mouth, Friday, Oct. 30, 7 p.m. $60 premium, $40 adults, $20 students.
- Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul, Thursday, Nov. 5, 7 p.m. $40 adults, $20 students.
- John T. Edge, author of “House of Smoke,” Thursday, Nov. 19, 6 p.m. Presented by the Gaston Lecture Series. Free, tickets required.
- Christmas With the Nelsons, starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Sunday, Dec. 13, 3 p.m. Presented by the Coulter Holiday Endowment. $45 adults, $22.50 students.
- Jonathan Blanchard: From History to Hip Hop, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 6 p.m. Presented by the Arvest Concert Series. Free, tickets required.
- Cirque Mechanics, Sunday, March 7, 7 p.m. Presented by Danfoss. $40 adults, $20 students.
The series began in 2011 as an effort to build up the cultural life of the region and now draws thousands of guests a year, according to ASUMH. Shows are chosen by the Performing Arts Council, a volunteer group of community members who research and select the acts. Caroline Carroll chairs the council. Other members are Tami Barrow, Denise Clarke, Kelly Householder-Giuliano, Jeff Quick, Katie Risk, Gayla Thompson, Terre Ware and Lang Zimmerman.
Ticket sales cover about half the series’ budget, according to ASUMH. The rest comes from patron sponsorships that run from $250 to $10,000 and up, with higher levels adding season tickets, reserved parking, meet-and-greet access and passes to the patron reception.
Tickets are sold online at thesheid.com through iTickets, by phone at 870-508-6280 or 800-965-9324, and in person at the box office Monday through Friday. The box office also opens an hour before performances and during intermission.
