Special Olympics Arkansas is holding its Duck Pluck fundraiser Aug. 27, and supporters can adopt a duck for a chance to win one of 10 prizes.
The event benefits the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas. Adopted ducks are entered in a live drawing, and winners take home donated prizes.
The ceremony takes place at Burton Pools & Spas, 6121 South Zero in Fort Smith. A “Cheese and Quackers” reception with local Special Olympics athletes begins at 5:30 p.m., and the live Duck Pluck starts at 6 p.m.
Supporters who cannot attend can still adopt a duck online and remain eligible to win.
Adoptions start at $5 for a single duck. Larger packs cost $20 for five ducks, $80 for 20 ducks and $120 for 30 ducks.
Prizes include a three-night stay at The Beach Bayou beach house in Fort Morgan, Alabama, a two-night stay at The Painted Bird treehouse in De Queen and two tickets to the Sept. 5 Razorback football game. Other prizes include a football signed by Arkansas football coach Ryan Silverfield, a basketball signed by Arkansas basketball coach John Calipari, a La-Z-Boy recliner and a Yeti cooler.
