The Baxter County Quorum Court will hold its final reading of the ordinance to dissolve the Baxter County Airport Commission at the Baxter County Courthouse starting at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting comes after last Tuesday’s vote to dissolve the commission failed 6-3 with one abstention. Questions arose during that meeting about whether the vote required a super majority to pass.
On Monday the Quorum Court held a second reading of the ordinance. The meeting only lasted for five minutes, before the court adjourned. No debate or public comments were held.
A public debate on the ordinance will be held tonight, with comments allowed from the public.
The ordinance, if passed, would replace the current airport commission with a five-member advisory board appointed by County Judge Kevin Litty.
