Mountain Home Junior High librarian Melissa Steiner and her husband, Baxter County Justice of the Peace Rick Steiner, have donated Mountain Home Bomber specialty license plates for every bus in the Mountain Home Public Schools fleet.
Steiner said the idea came to her on the last day of school, when she spotted an outdated plate on a district bus during her drive home. She said the fix seemed small but worth making.
“I’ve always believed that if you see a problem or concern, do what you can to help fix it,” Steiner said. “It may seem like a small detail, but those little things matter.”
The couple bought replacement plates for the full fleet. Every district bus now carries a matching Bomber plate.
Superintendent Allyson Dewey praised the gesture in a statement released by the district.
“Melissa is the kind of employee every district hopes to have,” Dewey said. “She noticed something that could be improved and didn’t wait for someone else to solve it.”
Dewey said the donation reflects the pride district employees take in their schools.
