Baxter County Tax Collector, Teresa Smith, is announcing that she is seeking re-election in 2022. Smith states that she is looking forward to the ongoing challenge of keeping up with the latest technological updates available to the Tax Collector’s Office that benefit the taxpayers, Baxter County, and the taxing entities.

She has worked to offer multiple tax payment options and continues to work diligently to hold delinquent taxpayers accountable. One of Smith’s most notable accomplishments and commitments is her dedication to providing a professional, warm, friendly, and helpful environment to everyone that interacts with the Tax Collector’s Office.
Smith was first elected as the Baxter County Tax Collector in 2014. She has had the privilege of being elected to the Tax Collectors Continuing Education Board in 2018, and the Tax Collectors Executive Board in 2020. In the summer of 2020, she was elected as the 2nd Vice President of the Arkansas Tax Collectors Association, a position in which she still has the honor of serving. Smith is current the Vice-President of the C.A.S.T. Committee a position she has held since 2020.
Smith says it has been an honor serving Baxter County as the Tax Collector, and she is looking forward to continuing serving Baxter County, the residents and taxpayers of Baxter County and the taxing entities.
Smith is a life-long resident of Baxter County. She is the wife of Monte Smith together they have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. Smith is the daughter of Roy and Marilyn Stone.
