The summer break is over and it’s officially time to get back at it. Luckily, the first week of school won’t be all bad, because the Baxter County Fair will be rolling into town on Tuesday. Truck Pull is on Saturday!
Here’s what’s happening in Mountain Home.
Friday, August 19
Water Color Painting Class
1:00 p.m. – The Peitz Cancer Support House will be hosting a water color painting class on Friday starting at 1:00 p.m.
All supplies provided. Pre-registration required. Call 870-508-2273 to register.
Rapp’s Barren Brewing Company
7:30 p.m. – Join us for a night of live music with Chris Cash!
Christopher Key Cash is your iTunes through an acoustic guitar, microphone, and loop station- in a place that serves beer. It’s your favorite songs with an energetic and alternative singer/songwriter vibe. His music is easy on the ears and his stage presence will make any music lover smile.

ReImagined Furniture Painting Class
1:00 p.m – Furniture Painting Class by ReImagined is Back! Join Cathie from ReImagined Surfaces in a hands on class where you will bring a small piece of furniture & “reimagine” it! All supplies are included in price including a handout of instructions. Many techniques will be discussed & implemented .
Should you decide to embellish with a transfer or decoupage paper, you can purchase what is available at class. Example of a small pieces include : small table, frames, small bench, a few drawers from a dresser at home.
I always say that if it could fit in the front seat of your car , then it’s the right size.
Baxter County Fair Truck Pull
7:00 p.m. – Next Saturday night we are pulling in WW’s hometown, Mtn Home! It also just happens to be the Saturday before school starts back in Mtn Home! So…we have decided to celebrate that by donating all of the hook fees we receive that night to the Mtn Home Schools meal program!
If anyone is interested in making a separate donation to that, we can take that at the sign-in trailer as well!
We hope to see as many of you there as we can to make an impact for our kids!
Truck Pull is at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.

The Mountain Home Twirling FunTimers offers dancing lessons for all ages on Sundays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cost for a lesson is $5 for adults and $3 for younger adults between the ages of 17 to 21. Children can attend for free.

Baxter County Fair
10:00 a.m. – The Baxter County Fair returns for young kids and adults alike. Come out and enjoy the many commercial booths this year before heading on over to the carnival for fun!
Intermediate Yoga – Peitz Cancer Support House
8 a.m. – 9 a.m.

Craft Time at the Legion

Alley-White American Legion Post 52 is hosting Craft Time at the Legion. Bring a project to work on, just come to visit, or learn a new craft. Everyone welcome.

The Mountain Home Twirling FunTimers meet every Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m., with dances running until 9:00 p.m. Dances run $7 per dancer to cover the cost of the group’s caller and dance floor.
Fun for 3s, 4s, and 5s – Baxter County Library
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Join in the fun with stories, songs, puppets, and more that encourage development of Early Literacy skills in young children. Ages 3-5.
