Our February Branch meeting date is scheduled for Saturday February 26, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Alley-White American Legion Post 52 which is located at 717 Market Street, Mountain Home, AR.
President- South Central Region President C. Ursula Gruetzner has rescheduled her visit until March 17 due to this week’s weather. Next month, she will tour the area and attend local functions, including our meeting. She will also be providing information on the South Central Region March 17-19 Convention and answer any questions. A Two Bell Ceremony is planned for two of our deceased members.
This meeting is open to all former Navy, Marine and Coast Guard enlisted veterans, both active duty and reserve.

Erin Walters LIVE at Rapp’s

Erin Walters has been singing professionally, off and on, for over 25 years. After having taken time off to raise her daughter, she has recommitted herself to music. Walters plays guitar, mandolin, keyboard, and harmonica.
Deeply rooted in classic country and classic rock, Erin also enjoys soul, blues, pop, and gospel music. With a deep Alto voice full of soul and personality, her voice is often compared to the likes of Janis Joplin and wonderfully talented Stevie Nicks. Don’t miss this show!

Shaun Johnson and the Big Band Experience

Shaun Johnson and the Big Band Experience will be at The Sheid at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27! Shaun Johnson is an Emmy-winning singer/songwriter who’s sold nearly two million albums as part of the nationally known vocal group, Tonic Sol-fa.
Few acts can channel Sinatra as he softly croons about lost love, inhabit Citizen Cope as he belts one out, and then segue into original songwriting without any indication that these musicians, these eras, and these styles were ever anything but destined to go together.
Finally, there’s the experience. Each performance is an experience, and no two experiences are exactly the same. Tickets are available online at www.thesheid.com as part of the Performing Arts Series.

MH Bomb Squad Robot Reveal and Dinner
February 28 @ 6:30 p.m.
The MHHS robotics team, Bomb Squad will be hosting its annual Robot Reveal on Feb 24th. The students will reveal this year’s robot to the community to kick start their competition season.
The open to the public presentation will begin immediately following the dinner around 6:30 at the Vada Sheid Community Center.
Tickets for the dinner are $25.
Lake Norfork Striper Club Meeting
February 28 @ 7 p.m.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery will be speaking as a special guest at the clubs meeting this Monday. Doors open at 6:30. Event at the Eastside Baptist Church in the Hensley Building.
Ozark Patriots Meeting
February 28 @ 6 p.m.
The Ozark Patriots will be hosting a meeting at Buncles Brickoven & Brews Monday evening at 6 p.m. The meeting will feature speeches from both Brandt Smith, U.S. District 1 candidate and Mark Lowery, Arkansas treasurer candidate.
Cardio Kickboxing & Strength Training

The Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education sponsors Cardio Kickboxing & Weight Training for women with Angie Bertel every Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Baxter Regional Wellness Education Center at 2545 Hwy 5 North.
Women who don’t exercise can lose anywhere from 3 to 8% of their muscle mass each decade due to inactivity. Studies show that strength training can promote bone development, reduce lower back pain, and reverse several skeletal muscle aging factors.
Kickboxing has become a popular sport because it provides a fantastic workout and challenges many of our senses and capacities.
If you want to feel better about your body, both in how it looks and performs, these sessions are for you!

Threads of Hope Creating Gifts for Cancer Patients – Peitz Cancer Support House

Do you like to knit or crochet? How about sewing or needlework, or quilting?
Would you like to learn how?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should join us at Threads of Hope at 1 pm on Monday afternoons.
This group offers lots of encouragement and support to one another as they spend time at their weekly meetings, and you just might learn a new stitch. Anyone with interest in any type of needlework is welcome to attend.
Threads of Hope provides different things to different people. For cancer survivors, you can learn a craft to help pass the time between or after treatments. For some, it provides a way to support others, even if you’re not a cancer survivor yourself. The group may make lap robes, prayers shawls, or caps that are distributed to those patients in treatment. For others, it provides a place to enjoy fun and companionship.

Volunteer, Tony Khayat, will lead you through gentle exercises to promote fitness and flexibility. Relieve stress and tension, trim, shape, and tone the body with a regenercize workout. This class is suitable for both beginner and intermediate yoga practitioners.

We will share our secret world with your stuffed animal friends at our Stuffed Animal Sleepover.
Friday, March 4, from 4:30-6:00PM – Drop your stuffed animal off at the Library.
When you drop it off, you will:
1. Create a name tag for your stuffed animal
2. Read a good night story to your stuffed animal.
3. Tuck your stuffed animal in for the night.
Saturday, March 5 at 10:30AM – Come pick up your stuffed animal and enjoy pictures, storytime, and a light breakfast.
Baxter County Master Gardeners Gardening Day Meeting

Peitz Cancer Support House

Therapeutic chair yoga is a gentle stretching exercise for anyone, especially those with chronic back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia or other pain and movement issues. Poses are learned either sitting in a chair or standing holding on to a chair.
Exercise can improve your ability to complete normal activities of daily living, lower the risk of anxiety or depression, and improve your quality of life.
Yoga is a free class and open to all men and women. The class meets in the Peitz Cancer Support House Activity Room. As with starting any new exercise program, please consult your physician before beginning.
