Election season is once again upon us. The filing period for all school board positions up for election closed at noon yesterday.
Three will vie for Mountain Home Public School’s Board of Education position 6 seat. Scott R. Bryant, Stewart Rogers, and Scott Booth will all appear on the ballot for voters inside the Mountain Home School District.
Candidates will draw lots this Friday for their chance to appear on the ballot in the top position.
“The Baxter County Election Commission will be drawing lots to position candidates on the ballot for the May 9, 2023 School Election on Friday March 3rd at 10:00 am in the Courtroom on the third floor of the Baxter County Courthouse. [The] public is welcome,” said Lynne Weaver, newly elected chairwoman of the Baxter County Election Commission, in an email to the Observer.
Norfork’s School District will also see a face-off between Stacey Ferretti and Jon Casey for position 5.
For Cotter’s School District, Russel Duggins filed for zone 4 unopposed and Cameron Ross filed for zone 5 unopposed.
The election is slated for May 9.
