Twin Lakes Playhouse has unveiled the lineup for its 2027 season, the Mountain Home community theater’s 56th, with five productions that range from a family musical to a courtroom drama to a comic murder mystery.
The theater has not yet set performance dates or the order of the shows. Season tickets, audition dates and individual show tickets will be announced later, the Playhouse said.
The five productions are:
- “The Wizard of Oz,” directed by Vance Jones. The Royal Shakespeare Company’s stage version of the 1939 film follows Dorothy over the rainbow into the Land of Oz, with songs including “Over the Rainbow.”
- “12 Angry Men,” directed by Mike Horberg. Reginald Rose’s drama shuts a jury inside a sweltering deliberation room, where one holdout pushes the others to question a murder case.
- “The Sugar Bean Sisters,” directed by Carol Eberhard. Nathan Sanders’ Southern Gothic comedy follows two eccentric sisters in the Florida swamps, amid buried secrets, would-be suitors and a touch of murder.
- “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein,” directed by Patti Butler. Christopher O’Neal’s adaptation of Shelley’s novel traces Victor Frankenstein and the lonely creature he brings to life.
- “Clue,” directed by Anne Johnson. Sandy Rustin’s fast-paced comedy, based on the Paramount film and the Hasbro board game, turns a dinner party at a secluded mansion into a whodunit.
The Playhouse said its volunteers, directors, designers and crews are already at work on the season. Updates will be posted on the theater’s Facebook page.
