Two Baxter County city council candidates have withdrawn from the November ballot ahead of Friday’s ballot draw.
Rick Hawkins has given notice of withdrawal from the race for Gassville City Council Ward 3, Seat 1. Megan DuBois withdrew from the race for Cotter City Council Ward 1, Position 1, on Aug. 6.
The Baxter County Board of Election Commissioners will hold its ballot draw at 9 a.m. Friday in the second-floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse, 1 East 7th St. in Mountain Home.
The draw sets the order in which candidates’ names appear on the ballot for the Nov. 3 general election. State law requires it.
Candidates, their representatives and the general public are invited to attend and witness the draw. The commission will finalize its meeting agenda immediately afterward.
Gary Smith chairs the commission. Bob Bodenhamer and Bill Andres serve as commissioners, and Lindsay Roberts is the county election coordinator.
