Big Creek Golf & Country Club has been selected as a qualifying site for the 9th United States Golf Association – USGA U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
Qualifying will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023, with a rain date of October 19. Entries will be available beginning at 9AM EDT on April 26, 2023, via the USGA Apply to Play website at champ-admin.usga.org. All qualifiers are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Individual handicap limit for entrants is 5.4.
Qualifying teams will advance to the Championship site of the The Philadelphia Cricket Club May 25-29, 2024.
Oklahoma and Arkansas have alternated sites every year for this qualifier since it began. The last three qualifying sites in Arkansas are: The Blessings in NWA in 2017; Hardscrabble Country Club in Ft. Smith in 2019, and Hot Springs Golf & Country Club in 2021.
The Arkansas State Golf Association will handle the qualifying round, working w Superintendent Brent Edens for hole and tee locations. Players must walk in the qualifier, but caddies can drive carts.
With the strong Four-Ball teams our club regularly produces, we hope to have some club entrants use their home-course advantage to advance to the national championship. in 2021 two sides advanced to the National site, Shoal Creek in Alabama, from Hot Springs.
